Minimal Lamp By Jed Crystal

Modern & raw, yet so graceful. The cotton-covered power cords are hand crocheted, creating a colorful web that serves as a shade.  The same cord performs two acts: delivery of electricity to the bulb and shading of the bulb.  The linear slash of color created by the multicolored cords, as they snake from socket to bulb, adds texture to any interior. With only its "guts" as decoration, Crystal takes design to its most basic level and produces a product that is equal parts form and function.

Approximately 5 meters long, the flexible cord can be made to knot and loop. It can be tied anywhere on the length to make customized hanging points.

Jed Crystal concentrates on the goal of extracting the essential needs of a design, and creating distinct products.  He is the 3rd place winner of the 2006 Bombay Sapphire Designer Glass competition, participant in the 2006 Industrial DREAM exhibition, and his work has been featured in publications worldwide.
