What’s your sign?

We are both Sagittarius, born on December 6th!

What’s your favorite fabric?

Its very hard to say. For woven fabrics, we both tend to love fabric with texture and some irregularities in the weave. I’m thinking of a handwoven and hand spun silk I just saw in a workshop in Oaxaca. It was so beautiful and unique; I wish I could have ordered tons of it.

But then of course we also do a lot of knits. For knit fabrics we usually like a smoother surface, soft and light feel. Right now we are using an organic cotton bamboo mix that has a very nice surface. Of course I love all sustainability, and fair trade issues connected to textile production, so just for that reason alone I will always gravitate to organically grown fibers.

What’s something people would be surprised to know about you?

I think most people would be surprised to what an extent I think about color and shapes. Not just for my own designs, but in general. I study everything, architecture, landscapes, and photography. I’m a purely visual person, and I will remember what color sweater a person I met wore 2 years ago.

What did you have for breakfast?

Baguette and cheese, and yes, lots of coffee, which is a must for me in the morning.

Would your friends say you’re more romantic or practical?

I'm both. I'm very very romantic, and I can be very very practical. But in the end I guess the romantic predominates. -which of course is not too practical
