Hygge is a word I love. "A Norwegian and Danish word for a mood of coziness and comfortable conviviality with feelings of wellness and contentment." Through our mutual love of this word I got to know Christiana Coop and Aimee Lagos Of Hygge & West; made a print for them, and now find myself on the pages of their just released book. I feel very fortunate and grateful to be apart of their hygge work. Thank you!
Angelina: What was your very first job ever?
Christiana Coop: Cleaning a physical therapy office building
Aimee Lagos: Working in a lab on experiments for a nuclear waste facility
A: What's a weird little trivia fact about your personal style...
CC: I severely dislike the color orange
AL: I’ve worn the same watch almost every day for 21 years
A:Behind the scenes, what was the craziest/or most surprising thing that happened while making your book?
CC: How much time it took was a surprise :)
AL: The sheer volume of content that we had to keep organized was surprising. Just keeping photos, interviews and other copy straight, and easily accessed for review was almost a full-time job.
A: Last thing someone gave you?
CC: Puppies to foster
AL: My sister got me a sweatshirt
A: Embrace your grey or dye it?
CC: Embrace it!
AL: I go back and forth, but my greys are becoming so numerous that they’re forcing me into embrace mode.
A: Perfect meal?
CC: Sushi
AL: Green chile chicken enchiladas
A: Wine, beer, or cocktail?
CC: All of the above
AL: Cocktail, though red wine will always be my first love.
